Cardinals Nip Warhawks, 5-4
|
The umbrellas came out during the Montreal-Seminole contest at Attack Ballpark.
The Montreal Cardinals knocked off the Seminole Warhawks, 5-4, at Attack Ballpark. Jared McIlwain was named player of the game for Montreal. He hit 1 single and 1 double, while driving in 3 runs. Montreal reliever Tony Ochoa picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Tyler Rittenhouse shouldered the loss. Caspar Tamburrino earned the save for Montreal, his 1st of the year.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and no one out in the top of the seventh inning. That's when third baseman Jason Gettman, who is tied for 7th in the PRL with a .467 on-base percentage, drew a walk. The Cardinals went on to win.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Montreal manager Hector Corretjer.
Montreal now has a 3-game win streak.
