Cardinals Win in Extras
|
Fans at Silvertips Ballpark were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown San Marin Mustangs take on the Kearny High Cardinals.
The Kearny High Cardinals beat the San Marin Mustangs, 10-6, at Silvertips Ballpark. Kearny High designated hitter Joe McGrath earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He went 3-5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 3. The Cardinals bumped their record to 21-19 with this latest triumph.
This game was not decided until late. With no one out in the top of the tenth, Travis Duchesneau drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The Cardinals took the lead, 7-6.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," McGrath said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
