McGrath hits 12th home run in Cardinals Win
|
Silvertips Ballpark was the site of a competitive game between the San Marin Mustangs and Kearny High Cardinals.
Kearny High designated hitter Joe McGrath was instrumental in his team's 5-3 win over the San Marin Mustangs. McGrath, who is tied for 7th in the HAL in runs scored with 38, went 2-4 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Cardinals. The winner was Kearny High reliever John Secker, now 1-0. The loser was Nick Mullin. Mike Marshall recorded his 3rd save for Kearny High.
Early in the game, McGrath had a 3-run home run for Kearny High. It was his 12th home run of the season and put the Cardinals on top, 3-0.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Kearny High manager Seth Richert.
The Cardinals bumped their record to 20-19 with this latest triumph.
