Islanders Walk Off with Win
The Grand Island Islanders beat the Riverside Poly, 7-6 at Ballpark of Morelia HS, in part due to left fielder Daniel Elliott, who nabbed player of the game honors. He was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Grand Island leads the Hank Aaron League Bob Gibson Division by 3 games.

Elliott had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the ninth. On a 1-2 fastball from B.J. Dyke, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Islanders a 7-6 lead. It was the 7th home run of the year for Elliott.

"I hate to be the fly in the ointment," said Elliott, "but we could've played better."
