The Billings West Golden Bears defeated the Canby Lancers, 5-4, at Guadalajara HS Grounds. Billings West center fielder Daniel Monaco was named player of the game for his superb performance. He went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Billings West reliever Justin Christensen picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Danny Cabrera absorbed the loss. Billings West leads the Pete Rose League Alex Rodriguez Division by 4½ games.

The Golden Bears got a big at-bat from catcher T.J. Wear. For the game, Wear went 1 for 4. In the bottom of the eighth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 8th hit of the season gave Billings West a 5-4 lead.

"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Monaco.
