Big Day by Guth Sparks Chargers Win
The Topeka West Chargers topped the Downsview Mustangs by the score of 9-2, with the largest share of the credit going to right fielder Mike Guth. Guth went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 doubles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Chargers. Topeka West reliever Chase Pollinger picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Jeremy Sutter was saddled with the loss. Barry Preiss locked down his 1st save.

When the Chargers needed a boost, it was the light-hitting Guth who delivered. Facing Downsview pitcher Jeremy Sutter the bottom of the third with the bases loaded, Guth hit his 7th home run of the year. It made the score 6-0.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Topeka West skipper Jack Fannon.

With the win, the Chargers have a record of 15-21.
