Indians Bang Out 9-6 Win Versus College
|
The Jefferson Indians beat the College Park, 9-6, at Ballpark of Monterrey HS. The Indians got a fine performance from third baseman Mike Everett, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2 for 4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Jefferson reliever Tyler Jackson picked up the win to move to 1-1. Mark Head suffered the loss. Johnny Toman closed the door for Jefferson, picking up his 2nd save of the year.
Everett had a big at-bat with the bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth inning, when he hit a run-scoring single. The Indians went on to win.
Everett told a Jefferson Daily News reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
The Indians bumped their record to 21-14 with this latest triumph.
