Santoyo Slugs Titans to 10-5 Win
|
The Carl Albert Titans beat the San Marin Mustangs, 10-5, at Zebras Ballpark. The Titans got a fine performance from right fielder Miguel Santoyo, who captured player of the game honors. He went 4-4 with 2 home runs, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Carl Albert, at 17-18, occupies 5th place in the Hank Aaron League Bob Gibson Division.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and no one out in the bottom of the third inning. That's when center fielder Brad Shank, who is tied for 7th in the HAL in hits with 53, drew a walk. The Titans went on to win.
Santoyo told a Carl Albert Today reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
