Cardinals Win at Tenafly, 4-2
|
Montreal starter Danny Gordon pitched effectively against the Tenafly Tigers at Ballpark of León HS. The right-hander led his team to a 4-2 win. Gordon, now 5-1, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 5, walking 2, and allowing 2 earned runs. The Cardinals bumped their record to 20-12 with this latest triumph.
The Cardinals got a big at-bat from catcher Nelson Mahony. For the game, Mahony went 1 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the top of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 7th double of the season gave Montreal a 2-0 lead.
"We did a lot of things right," said Mahony.
