Golden Bears Bang Out 9-6 Win Versus Derby
The umbrellas came out during the Billings West-Derby contest at Guadalajara HS Grounds.

Getting a good performance from left fielder Atsushi Takeshita, the Billings West Golden Bears defeated the Derby Panthers, 9-6. Takeshita went 4-5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI for the Golden Bears. Bill Henderson, credited with the win, is now 2-0. He allowed 6 runs on 8 hits in 5 innings.

Paul Caldwell hit a run-scoring double off Hideiichi Nakashima in the bottom of the fifth, which put the Golden Bears in front, 7-6. In addition to the double, Caldwell had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.

"I'm not out here to win a beauty contest," said Takeshita. "Obviously."

The Golden Bears bumped their record to 20-12 with this latest triumph.
