Pitman High right fielder Seth Day had a good game, even if his team did not. The Panthers dropped a 11-10 decision to Riverside at Apollos Ballpark. Day was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. Riverside reliever John Greene picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Fernando Ramos was saddled with the loss. The Poly bumped their record to 15-15 with this latest triumph.

Had Nick Puckett not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Puckett hit a bases-clearing double. That made the score 11-10, in favor of the Poly.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Puckett told the Riverside News.
