Warhawks Lose, 4-2, at Ballpark of Monterrey HS
|
The Jefferson Indians faced a tough opponent in Seminole pitcher Javier Torres, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Ballpark of Monterrey HS by a final score of 4-2. Torres went 6.2 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. David LeVasseur earned the save for Jefferson, his 6th of the year. The second-place Indians have won 4 consecutive games.
The Indians got a big at-bat from first baseman Gil Partin. For the game, Partin was 1 for 4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 9th double of the season gave Jefferson a 4-2 lead.
After the game, Jefferson manager Dan Miller applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
