Tigers Solve Mustangs, 6-5

The Downsview Mustangs and Tenafly Tigers provided some drama at Visigoths Stadium.
The Tenafly Tigers topped the Downsview Mustangs by the score of 6-5, with the largest share of the credit going to second baseman Jon Shaw. Shaw was 1-3 with a double and 2 walks. He scored 3 runs for the Tigers. Earning his 4th save for Tenafly was Nick Dingeldein.
Had Jesse Fitzgerald not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Fitzgerald hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Tigers.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Shaw told the Tenafly Herald.
The Tigers go to 12-17, putting them last in the Pete Rose League Alex Rodriguez Division.
