Jaguars Lose, 8-4, at Attack Ballpark
|
Ricky Pena helped his team muscle past the Jacksonville State Jaguars, 8-4. In the game, the Seminole designated hitter was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Kyle Mitchell was the winning pitcher. Over 7.2 innings, he allowed 4 runs on 11 hits, with 4 walks and 6 strikeouts. Jonathan Gilberds earned the save, his 1st, for the Warhawks.
Pat Sobiech, who is tied for 10th in the HAL in hits with 43, aided the Seminole cause with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the right fielder went 2 for 4 with 2 singles and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Pena said.
Seminole is now 21-7, 5½ games up in the Hank Aaron League Willie Mays Division.
