The Santa Clara Vampires blasted the Lerna Lions, 15-5. Jose Payano was one of the hitting stars. He was 4-6 with 2 home runs and a double, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 5 for Santa Clara. The Vampires bumped their record to 14-14 with this latest triumph.

The Vampires got a big at-bat from catcher Tom McDonald. For the game, McDonald was 1-4 with a walk. In the top of the second, with the bases loaded, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 15th hit of the season gave Santa Clara a 1-0 lead.
