Ishii has 3 hit night, Leads Carp to Win
|
The Hiroshima Toyo Carp knocked off the Tokyo Yakult Swallows, 7-3, at Rebels Ballpark. Takeo Ishii, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Hiroshima Toyo won. The first baseman was 3-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Even with the win, the Carp have a dismal 18-41 record.
Ishii had a big at-bat with the bases loaded in the top of the third inning, when he hit a grand slam. The Carp went on to win.
In postgame comments to the Hiroshima Toyo News, Ishii said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
