Maruyama belts 2 home runs as Bay Stars Squeeze Past Hanshin
The Hanshin Tigers and Yokohama Bay Stars provided some drama at Ballpark of Otofuke College.

Issei Maruyama left his imprint on the 7-6 Yokohama win against the Hanshin Tigers. Maruyama, who is rated as the 51st best prospect by BNN, was 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and 2 walks, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Yoshiyuki Matsuda, who went 6 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 9 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 5. His record now stands at 4-3. Nobu Arita converted his 13th save in 18 tries.

Maruyama had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a 1-1 fastball from Sun Ti, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Bay Stars a 5-3 lead. It was the 10th home run of the year for Maruyama.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said Maruyama.

Yokohama is now 28-30, Hanshin 36-22.
