Multi-HR Game for Adkinson in 11-3 Win
|
The Chunichi Dragons powered past the Yokohama Bay Stars, 11-3, at Cuckoos Stadium. Dustin Adkinson slugged 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice, to lead the charge. The winner was Ed Purdy, who threw 82 pitches over 5.2 innings. The right-hander was charged with 1 run on 3 hits. Toby Priest earned the save for Chunichi, his 2nd.
Toshimitsu Epps, who is rated as the 29th best prospect by BNN, aided the Chunichi cause with a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth. For the game, the third baseman went 1-5 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Adkinson. "And not try to do too much."
The Dragons sit in second place in the Central Division with a record of 32-24.
