It was a good time at Rebels Ballpark, where fans came to watch the Yokohama Bay Stars and Tokyo Yakult Swallows get after it.

Yokohama pitcher Keinosuke Misawa gave the Swallows all they could handle, but in the end, Tokyo Yakult left Rebels Ballpark with a 4-1 win. Misawa allowed 3 earned runs on 5 hits over 5 innings. Tokyo Yakult reliever Edolf Neels was the winner. His record is now 3-0. The losing pitcher was Keinosuke Misawa.

Brian Schaefer had a big run-scoring single for the Swallows in the bottom of the second inning. With Tokyo Yakult leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Keinosuke Misawa and stroked the single to right. It was his 58th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Swallows ahead, 2-0.

In postgame comments to the Tokyo Yakult Bulletin, Schaefer said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."

The Swallows bumped their record to 27-26 with this latest triumph.
