Victory Over Swallows Takes Yomiuri to 31-20
Je-ju Soung made an impact in the 11-6 Yomiuri win over Tokyo Yakult. Soung went 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The first-place Giants have a one-game lead in their division.

The Giants got a big at-bat from catcher Yasushi Hagiwara. For the game, Hagiwara went 1 for 5 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the third, with the bases loaded, he stroked a grand slam home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Yomiuri a 6-2 lead.

"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Yomiuri manager Masato Ojima.
