Swallows Solve Giants, 5-3
|
Starting pitcher Mike Boyer pitched well enough to help the Tokyo Yakult Swallows beat the Yomiuri Giants by the score of 5-3. Matt Stevenson earned the save, his 14th. The Swallows bumped their record to 26-24 with this latest triumph.
Tokyo Yakult took a 5-3 lead on Clint Daley's 9th home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Yomiuri pitcher Kiyohira Nakayama in the bottom of the seventh.
"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Daley told the Tokyo Yakult Bulletin.
