Swallows Fall Short at Yokohama
The Yokohama Bay Stars defeated the Tokyo Yakult Swallows, 7-6, at Cuckoos Stadium. Yokohama first baseman Gouki Maeda was named player of the game for his superb performance. He went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Tokyo Yakult has now lost 4 straight.

Shigekatsu Takagi was the walk-off hero for Yokohama. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Bay Stars left fielder hit a dramatic solo home run to send the teams home.

"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Takagi told the Yokohama Citizen. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."
