Álvarez Stars in Fuego Win
The Santa Fe Fuego knocked off the Vancouver Pioneers, 9-5, at "The Fort" at B.C. Place. Luis Álvarez, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Santa Fe won. The catcher was 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 4. The Fuego' win now puts them at 41-43.

Álvarez had a big at-bat with runners on 1st and 2nd in the top of the eighth inning, when he hit a 3-run home run. The Fuego went on to win.

Álvarez told the Santa Fe Herald: "I don't know which I enjoy more -- being a ballplayer or the perks that come with being a ballplayer."
