Dragons Win at Hanshin, 11-8
|
The Chunichi Dragons trumped the Hanshin Tigers, 11-8, at Ballpark of Otofuke College. Chunichi first baseman Danny Dunlap was named player of the game for his performance. He went 2-3 with a double and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Chunichi reliever Toby Priest picked up the win to move to 3-1. Taichiro Ishida suffered the loss. Chunichi, at 16-18, occupies 4th place in the Central Division.
The Dragons got a big at-bat from third baseman Toshimitsu Epps. For the game, Epps went 2 for 5 with a double. He drove in 4 runs. In the top of the seventh, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 7th double of the season gave Chunichi a 9-7 lead.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Chunichi manager Nick Murphy.
