Victory Pushes Swallows Record to 19-13
|
The Tokyo Yakult Swallows topped the Chunichi Dragons, 4-2, in Central League action at Rebels Ballpark. The player of the game was Tokyo Yakult pitcher and Hirakata, Japan native Noboru Abe. Abe got the win, improving to 3-1. He allowed 1 hit and walked 3 over 6 innings. Abe allowed 1 earned run. The Swallows bumped their record to 19-13 with this latest triumph.
The Swallows got a big at-bat from catcher Tooru Miyahira. For the game, Miyahira was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 6th home run of the season gave Tokyo Yakult a 2-0 lead.
