Brooklyn Black Knights starter Jan Shirazi was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Havana Stogies, 3-1. Ji-hwan Yea closed it out for his 4th save. Brooklyn, now 5-2, has played well in the early going.
David Ramírez had a big run-scoring single for the Black Knights in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Brooklyn leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a slider from Peter Miner and stroked the single to left. It was his 8th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Black Knights ahead, 2-0.
"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Shirazi.
