The Hiroshima Toyo Carp had to overcome a big game from Tokyo Yakult right fielder Jerry Lemons to leave Rebels Ballpark with a 3-2 victory. Lemons went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Even with the win, the Carp have a dismal 7-21 record.

Late-game drama came in the top of the 11th inning. With no one out and the bases empty, the batter, Seiju Takahashi, hit a single. It helped Hiroshima Toyo seize the win.

"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Takahashi.
