Morioka Slugs Bay Stars to 6-1 Win
The Yokohama Bay Stars knocked off the Chunichi Dragons, 6-1, at Cuckoos Stadium. Kenji Morioka, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Yokohama won. The right fielder slugged 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Fumikazu Nishimura picked up the win, improving his season record to 4-0. He struck out 8 in 5.1 innings. Their 12-13 record puts the Bay Stars 4th in the Central Division.

Morioka had a big at-bat with a runner on 1st in the bottom of the sixth inning, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Bay Stars went on to win.

"I felt we were ready to go," said Yokohama manager Miguel Gómez. "Our pregame was pretty good."
