Takahashi Helps Tigers Run Win Streak to 3
|
The Hanshin Tigers knocked off the Tokyo Yakult Swallows, 7-4, at Ballpark of Otofuke College. Eichiro Takahashi, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Hanshin won. The shortstop was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Hanshin has an impressive 17-8 record.
Takahashi had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a first pitch cutter from Hyun-sik Park, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Tigers a 7-4 lead. It was the 7th home run of the year for Takahashi.
"It was sure nice to get the win but there's a lot of baseball left," Takahashi after the game.
