Tigers Win at Tokyo Yakult, 9-5
|
Tokyo Yakult third baseman Pete Farthing was sensational. He went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Hanshin beat the Swallows, 9-5. Farthing was named the player of the game despite the loss. The Tigers, now 8-3, have played some good baseball in the early going.
Lu-shan Teoh, who is the 6th-best prospect in the Tigers organization, aided the Hanshin cause with a 2-run triple in the top of the first. For the game, the second baseman went 1-4 with a triple and a walk. He drove in 2 runs.
"The name of the game is scoring runs," Teoh said. "We did a good job of that today."
