Multi-HR Day for Kawahara as Swallows Overpower Bay Stars, 4-2
|
A 3-RBI performance from Gyou Kawahara, who is rated as the 66th best prospect by BNN, helped the Tokyo Yakult Swallows beat the Yokohama Bay Stars, 4-2. Earning his 3rd save of the year was Matt Stevenson. With the win, Tokyo Yakult is 5-4.
Kawahara had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 2-1 fastball from Nobu Arita, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Swallows a 4-2 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Kawahara.
Kawahara told a Tokyo Yakult Bulletin reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
