Giants Need Extra Frames to Get Past Swallows
Tadao Nishimura did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Tokyo Yakult Swallows from losing, 8-7, to the Yomiuri Giants at Ballpark of Yamagata College. Nishimura belted 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Yomiuri, now 3-2, has gotten their season off to a good start.

Mitsuya Inouye swatted a run-scoring double for Yomiuri in the bottom of the tenth. The first baseman went 2 for 5 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and batted in 4.

"I still think this team has room for improvement," Inouye told the Yomiuri Today.
