Bay Stars Hope Opening Day Win Bodes Well for Season
|
The Yokohama Bay Stars got their 2034 season off and running with a win over the Yomiuri Giants at Cuckoos Stadium. The final score was 4-2. Yokohama pitcher Fumikazu Nishimura was named player of the game. In 5.1 innings, Nishimura surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 3. He allowed 2 runs.
Issei Maruyama, who is the 4th-best prospect in the Bay Stars organization, chipped in for Yokohama with a solo home run in the bottom of the first. For the game, the center fielder had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 run batted in.
