Lions Raise Rally Flag, Beat Tohoku Rakuten, 3-2
|
The Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles got a superb performance from pitcher Bor-zeng Bei, but the Saitama Seibu Lions still won the game, 3-2. Bei was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 5 innings of shutout ball. The Lions improved to 25-32.
The Lions got a big at-bat from second baseman Hisornori Tanaka. For the game, Tanaka was 1-4 with a double and a walk. In the top of the ninth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 9th double of the season gave Saitama Seibu a 3-2 lead.
"Being able to contribute to a win is always a great feeling," Tanaka told the Saitama Seibu Chronicle.
