Colonials Bang Out 6-5 Win Versus Hawaii
|
The New England Colonials did just enough to sneak past the Hawaii Islanders, 6-5, at Aloha Stadium. New England catcher Luppe Missel earned player of the game honors. New England, now 3-5, is off to a slow start.
The Colonials got a big at-bat from first baseman Jeff Mitchell. For the game, Mitchell went 1 for 4 with a double and a walk. He drove in 3 runs. In the top of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 1st double of the season gave New England a 6-4 lead.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Mitchell. "And not try to do too much."
