Kato Hits 2 home runs in Fighters Win
The Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters stopped the ORIX Buffaloes, 9-6, at Ballpark of Hakui College. The Fighters got a big game from Takahiro Kato, who hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 6. Jamie Stanhope, who went 5.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 1 run on 3 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 8. His record now stands at 1-2. Isao Yonemura converted his 12th save in 14 tries.

Kato had a big at-bat with the bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth inning, when he hit a grand slam. The Fighters went on to win.

"It feels good to get this one," Kato told the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Daily.
