Lions Get One-Run Win at Chiba Lotte

Saitama Seibu and Chiba Lotte duked it out at Ballpark of Nasu College and the Lions came out victorious.
The Saitama Seibu Lions did just enough to secure a 3-2 victory over the Chiba Lotte Marines at Ballpark of Nasu College. Nobody did more than pitcher Taisuke Nakamoto, who captured player of the game honors. The 5th-place Lions are now 22-28, the Marines 20-30.
A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 1st and no one out in the top of the sixth inning. That's when first baseman Takahiko Shimabukuro, who is rated as the 63rd best prospect by BNN, drew a walk. The Lions went on to win.
Chiba Lotte manager Ira Wood said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
