Lions Lose, 7-6, at Ballpark of Aomori College

The Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks eked out a 7-6 win versus the Saitama Seibu Lions at Ballpark of Aomori College. Nobody did more than center fielder Kiyoshi Yano, who captured player of the game honors. The win was credited to Tatsuro Nakamura in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Justin Utting took the loss. Futoshi Ito nailed down his 1st save.
Shinzo Nishimura, who is tied for 5th in the PL in triples with 2, helped out the Fukuoka SoftBank cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a 2-run single. For the game, the second baseman was 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
Hawks manager Vincent Crockett wasn't all too pleased, despite the win, telling reporters that the performance highlighted some clear areas for improvement moving forward. He refused to be more specific, however. "I'm not gonna publicize our weaknesses," he said. "That stuff stays in the clubhouse."
Fukuoka SoftBank is now 21-25, Saitama Seibu 20-26.
