The ORIX Buffaloes relied on the hitting of center fielder Fu-chi Ming to stop the Saitama Seibu Lions, 10-4. For the game, Ming went 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Steve Stevens earned the win for ORIX. He lasted 5 innings, allowing 2 earned runs on 3 hits, while striking out 3. With the win, he raised his record to 4-2. The Buffaloes improved to a lofty 32-12.

The Buffaloes beat the Lions with some clutch hitting. The double by Hyo-chin Suk in the top of the fifth is a good example. With two down, Suk gave his team the lead, 4-3, when he came through with the big hit.
