Shimabukuro Powers Lions to 8-4 Win
The Saitama Seibu Lions topped the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks, 8-4, with first baseman Takahiko Shimabukuro playing a big role. Shimabukuro was 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Lions in the win. Saitama Seibu is now 13-18.

Yugo Muramoto went 1-2 with 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for Saitama Seibu. The 21-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring walk off Kazuteru Hayashi. It was his 22nd walk of the season.
