Victory Pushes Fighters Record to 14-10
The Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters had to overcome a big game from Saitama Seibu third baseman Heiichi Matsuo to leave Field of the Chariots with a 5-3 victory. Matsuo went 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The winner was Chang-se Kim, who threw 84 pitches over 6 innings. The right-hander was charged with 3 runs on 3 hits. Isao Yonemura, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 6th save.
