With shortstop Junki Scott leading the charge, the Chiba Lotte Marines defeated the Saitama Seibu Lions, 15-1, at Field of the Chariots. Scott, who is rated as the 73rd best prospect by BNN, was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and 2 walks. He scored 4 runs and drove in 3. The Marines, now 3-1, have hit the ground running this season.
Andrew Clark aided the Chiba Lotte cause with a 2-run single in the top of the first. For the game, the right fielder went 3 for 4 with 3 singles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Scott told the Chiba Lotte Times.
