Islanders Come Back Late to Top Poly
|
The umbrellas came out during the Grand Island-Riverside contest at Apollos Ballpark.
Starting pitcher Joe Lovell pitched well enough to help the Grand Island Islanders beat the Riverside Poly by the score of 5-4. Jeffrey Ricketts earned save number 1.
Nick Mefford made it 5-4 in favor of Grand Island when he delivered a run-scoring single. It came with one out in the top of the eighth. The Islanders went on to win.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Grand Island manager Doug Taylor.
Grand Island now has a 3-game win streak.
