Cardinals Rally to Eke Out Win
|
The inspired effort of San Marin designated hitter Adam Ledbetter was not enough to prevent a 8-7 loss to the Kearny High Cardinals. Ledbetter went 3-5 with 2 home runs and a double, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. The win was credited to John Harlow in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Iestyn Milward took the loss. Kearny High is third in the Hank Aaron League Willie Mays Division with a record of 14-12.
Joe McGrath, who is rated as the 51st best prospect by BNN, contributed to the Kearny High win with a solo home run in the bottom of the 11th. For the game, the designated hitter had 4 hits in 6 at-bats with 1 home run, 3 singles, 2 runs scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," McGrath said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
