Patriots Win at Derby, 7-1

The umbrellas came out during the Francis Lewis-Derby contest at Managua HS Grounds.
The Francis Lewis Patriots beat the Derby Panthers, 7-1, at Managua HS Grounds. Francis Lewis shortstop Ross Centner earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. The Patriots bumped their record to 14-11 with this latest triumph.
Scott Quinn aided the Francis Lewis cause with a run-scoring walk in the top of the seventh. For the game, the second baseman was 1-3 with a double, a walk, and was hit by a pitch.
"I still think this team has room for improvement," Centner told the Francis Lewis Gazette.
