Though he had a great game, Steve Ashton could not single-handedly produce a win for College. Montreal won the game, 6-2. Ashton was named the player of the game. He went 4-4 with a home run, a triple, and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Francis Haworth, who went 7 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 4 hits, while walking 6 and striking out 7. His record now stands at 3-0. George Robison nailed down his 5th save.
Jason Gettman hit a bases-clearing double off Rob Setteducato in the bottom of the sixth, which put the Cardinals in front, 3-2. In addition to the double, Gettman had 1 single and 1 walk, while going 2 for 3.
Gettman told a Montreal News reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
The first-place Cardinals have won 4 straight games.
