Havana Stogies starter Joe Hardy pitched a strong game against the Cabo San Lucas Toreros at The Humidor, leading the Stogies to a 5-4 win. The Stogies own a robust 48-28 mark.
Had Reynaldo Aguilera not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases empty, Aguilera hit a solo home run. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Stogies.
"You can't take yourself too seriously," Aguilera told the Havana Daily. "But at the end of the day, we do play to win ballgames."
