The Grand Island Islanders scored a 8-7 win versus the Pleasantville Panthers at Stealth Ballpark. Grand Island pitcher Tim Lane nabbed top player honors in the tight contest. Grand Island reliever Tim Lane got the win, raising his record to 2-0. Phil Ebert was tagged with the loss. At 7-8, Grand Island is in third place in the Hank Aaron League Bob Gibson Division.

Had Kevin McCarthy not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, McCarthy hit a 2-run single. That made the score 8-7, in favor of the Islanders.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Pleasantville manager Bobby Lowenstein. "But we decided not to take it."
