Panthers Win in Extras
|
It was a fun time at Stealth Ballpark, where the Enterprise Hornets and Pleasantville Panthers tangled.
John Rudge pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Enterprise Hornets, despite Rudge's fine outing, dropped a 1-0 decision to the Pleasantville Panthers at Stealth Ballpark. The winner was Pleasantville reliever Phil Ebert, now 1-0. The loser was John Rudge.
The Panthers beat the Hornets with some clutch hitting. The single by Bruce Allison in the bottom of the 11th is a good example. With two down, Allison gave his team the lead, 1-0, when he came through with the big hit.
"This is a resilient bunch," said Pleasantville manager Bobby Lowenstein.
The Hornets drop to 6-6 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2034 season.
