Vampires Win, Hope to Turn Around Slow Start
It was a fun time at River Otters Ballpark, where the Derby Panthers and Santa Clara Vampires tangled.

The Santa Clara Vampires defeated the Derby Panthers, 5-3, in Pete Rose League action at River Otters Ballpark, with Santa Clara pitcher Ricky Montoya named player of the game. Santa Clara, now 4-6, is off to a slow start.

Jose Payano aided the Santa Clara cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the first. For the game, the left fielder was 1 for 3 with a walk.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Payano.
